i replaced the plugin but i still get it.

I tried but I got the same results. it doesn't even let me to remove the licence.
On the staging site , that I didnt update it with the problematic add-on , it worked correctly .

On the actual site , that I updated it with the problematic, remove and reinstall didn't work.

Go to misc settings, enable the last option, "Uninstall WP Mail SMTP," and click save. Now deactivate the plugin. Delete the old plugin. install the new.

Make sure you delete the plugin from the plugin page. not from the Cpanel file manager.

I have a lot of setting there and routings and its a live site.
So I downloaded latest 3.x version , downgraded the problematic 4.x version to 3.x from inside the wordpress panel.
Then I replaced the 3.x version with yours from inside the wordpress and it worked.

Good idea. Tried it now, but with an older 4.x version. Works just fine now.

to hide notice: "Please enter and activate you license key for WP Mail SMTP Pro to enable automatic updates."
