Make sure to clear browser cache, in the .htaccess, change the directories path as per your actual server path. Make sure rewrite rules and their path are correct according to your server setup. I can't guide you more than this because I don't know even your web server and the directory structure. From here, you need to google and read more about how .htaccess works. If you server is Apache, enable rewrite module.
