rather than drag and copy, i did double click on the password which selects the entire word, so that's the reason it added a "new line" at the end which made the password wrong. Thanks for the share @Monalee

@lalbilla nulled it.. I've not really tried updating though.. but if you are having issues install it in a new staging environment...

Copy all the files after installation except ./storage folder

Goto your production directory zip and backup everything... Now overwrite all the files with the new installation...

Do not overwrite storage folder and .env ... Change every thing else..

check your site and see if it works normally if it doesn't. .. revert
