If you can use a credit card then https://porkbun.com/ is the best solution for you. you can get .app or .dev .xyz domain for free and use promo code CODENEWBIE or XYZFREE22 for .xyz domain at checkout
Well, you used to be able to use "dot.tk" to get a free domain. They weren't the best but from what I can tell they've stopped doing that now. Best choice in my opinion is just to use namecheap and buy some extremely cheap domain. Can probably get one for a dollar or two.
I tried this code, and the checkout total became $0. But my CC from an Indian bank got declined
then ask your bank to allow your card for international checkout. they will charge you 1 or 2$ and then return it to your account just to check that can you make a payment or not.

I can make international payments using this CC, and I paid an invoice today to another service. I think this is due to the new RBI mandate. I will look around

Yes exactly 1$ you can get .com domain unless you want to use it in illegal ways
Sometimes it can be good option to use free domain for present your work to your customer on a live domain without using a subdomain. I was tried .tk and eu.org but I could not achive it too
