Free WordPress Image Optimization Plugin Locally

I am looking for a WordPress image optimization plugin that optimizes my images using my own server's resources. All the plugins I found upload my images elsewhere and charge money for it or impose strict limits.
Is there a plugin that will use my own server to optimize the images? Is this practical at all?

I don't know what the paid ones do. This one makes me webp. Local and free.

Try also "Plus WebP" By Katsushi Kawamori (search inside WordPress Plugins repository). It is free and works great. Convert all existing pictures, convert any future image you will upload, serve as WebP if needed. All is done locally.

I would suggest you to use 'Imagine' software for . It's free, works very well on bulk images compression. It's good to go with WebP format.
It doesn't affect your server resources as it works on your pc.
