For protection, I would recommend using Wordfence or Cerber Security Pro. Both are good, but the Wordfence detection system works better due to lots of websites using it and overall malicious threats data they have, but it is heavier on your server.

Like the others, I would recommend WordPress too. And I have personally created a car rental website using this plugin
It works pretty well, the only issue is from the developer. He always takes his sweet time to release the updates; which is quite annoying to be frank. Other than that, the plugin's pretty robust and is full of features too with lots of payment gateway integration.
