It does work the problem is that you can't ignore it you'll eventually always get a prompt to re-enter the key again every 24 hours or 42 hours if you don't then you cannot access anything from the WordPress dashboard other than hide my wp settings.

I can't say that I've had any problems with the current version and WP 5.9. I am running it on around 16 websites, seems to be functioning fine.
