that's right, you can make it by yourself using that method, but that method usually uses an EDU account which is more risky, all cloud accounts have risks, such as data loss or account banned. I use a personal account, as long as you don't violating google drive policy then it will be fine. Always backup important data, I only share it to y'all, so use at your own risk
