The file C:\Users\ADMIN\Downloads\ap-plugin-scripteo_4.78\ap-plugin-scripteo\lib\function.php is being warned of Backdrop...

But I don't see the server path in the file.

I had a little investigation before. The problem is in the function.php file probably because of using $response = wp_remote_get to send an update check request to the developer's website. It is located in the bsaProCheckUpdate function, you can delete this code. The plugin still works normally

I am assuming the code would still be required then to prevent sending URL of the site to dev?

I don't understand what you mean, but if you remove that code and check the file again.
There will be a clean file report...

Nevermind, sorry for the confusion.

Some plugins, though rare, send pings to plugin dev to verify plugin is licensed or not.
If not licensed it sends site URL to the plugin devs. Something along those lines.

Yes, there will be many such Plugins.

To learn the lines of code, Copy and ask Chat GPT, you will get the answer.
Then decide whether to keep that code or not.

In some cases, that function will be related to other functions.
The simple way is to use comment // to ignore it, some Nulled masters are still doing it.
